Liberating the orphaned BonIce penguin
BonIce are 3 peso popsicles that come in blackberry, coconut, guayaba, piña colada, strawberry and spicy mango varieties, among others. It's nearly impossible to travel a block in a major Mexican city without crossing paths with a BonIce vendor, who's either selling them out of a travel cooler or a fiberglass penguin on wheels such as the one you see here. They make sitting in an August traffic jam immeasurably less dreadful, so anyone who would dare to leave such an iconic item of Mexinostaligia to collect dust in some vacant lot is basically begging you to take it off their hands and convert it into a beer cooler or something.
